7th march - T-shirt printing and reworking 

Any age max 15 people 

 

Waste Will Save US joins the Windmill Community Gardens on 7th March for the first of their Spring community Upcycling sessions. At this workshop, you'll be rethinking waste and transforming old items into new by repurposing what we already have. Breathing new life into old clothes and materials that would otherwise end up in landfill.

 

BYO garment

Have an old favourite  T-shirt that you no longer wear or one that is falling apart? Come join us for a reworking and printing session.

 

We will provide the materials you bring the garment.

 

Materials provided include fabrics and paints from the WWSU archive - Fabric swatches & trims, waste trash materials,  natural pigment & food waste paints, waterbased paints, fabric pens, stencils, needles and embroidery threads will also be provided.

 

Printing using a variety of different methods - stencils also included

 


Whether you're a seasoned crafter or a beginner, this event is perfect for anyone looking to unleash their creativity, merging DIY customisation with ritualistic immersive practices.

 

 

To further boost your creativity and in keeping with the ritual ethos we will immerse your senses in scent and sound.

 

The wood burner will be lit so can get comfortable and cosy

Moroccan mint tea will be served with Mint picked from the gardens

14th march

Denim and leather painting

Any age max 15 people

 

(Wearable art) demonstrating examples of what you can paint and providing stencils and waste trash materials which can be used for the painting session.

 At this session, you'll be making wearable art, rethinking waste and transforming old items into new by repurposing what we already have. Breathing new life into old clothes and materials that would otherwise end up in landfill.

 

 

BYO garment - We will provide the materials including paints from the WWSU archive -  a variety of different sprays and emulsions, we will also have waterbased & natural pigment food waste paints, fabric pens & be providing stencils and waste trash materials which can be incorporated into the designs and used for the painting session.

21st march jewellery making using old and  broken jewellery.

Any age max 15 people

At this session, you'll be rethinking waste and transforming old items into new by repurposing what we already have. Breathing new life into old jewellery and using materials that would otherwise end up in landfill. 

 

 

BYO jewellery - We will provide additional materials including beads waste trash materials chains and ropes to help you create something new.

28th march

Cyanotype workshop 

Any age max 15 people

 

 

Waste Will Save US joins the Windmill Community Gardens on 28th March for the fourth instalment of the Spring Community Upcycling sessions. 

At This workshop you will using the art of cyanotype to create artwork on fabric - we will be foraging objects and botanical specimens from the gardens including leaves and flowers to be used in the session- You will get to keep the fabric swatches which can be used for garment patches or artwork to frame.

 

We will provide the materials including pre prepared sensitised fabric swatches and additional tools to be used in the session including stencils, cut out letters for spelling words and waste trash materials.
